Life Goes On

It’s been over two weeks since I’ve wrote an entry. Thanks for reading because I don't really share this kind of entry on my Facebook; I usually post ones worth reading or relevant others. Posts like this one is more for the future me to come across later. This past weekend, I drove down to UW-Milwaukee’s Hmong New Year First University Pageant on Saturday, then drove back to stay at my sister’s for the night and Sunday. It snowed all day Sunday, but I still went on a secret mission. I was worried about my drive on Monday morning to my orthodontic appointment, but the roads were clear by 9am. The bottom of my braces are off, but I have to wear my retainers as often as possible, especially for the top because one tooth is shifting back. I was done with the exam by 12 and finally got home after a three hour drive.

I’ve been really busy just working on everything on my mind. I’ve been really busy, but one thing has been on my mind throughout all these amazing things I’ve been working on. Unfortunately, not you. I’ve been thinking about how different my life would be if a lot of things actually worked out. Like my past partner. Or that person. Or that thing. Or that job.

A lot of things didn’t happen. A lot of things that I kind of (and really, really, really) wanted to happen, didn’t happen. But like what always tell myself, life goes on. If they all had actually happened, none of these would’ve happened:
  • this blog
  • my youtube channel
  • learning the guitar
  • lots of sleep
  • lots of free time
  • lots of traveling
  • This list is only the tip of the iceberg
A year ago, I would’ve been in so many arguments defending, reasoning, and explaining myself for the things I do. I would’ve never done anything I’ve done so far. I wouldn’t have gone all over the state. I would’ve never played the guitar. This past summer was a really tough one; one of the toughest summers. I don’t even know where to begin. I think this song sums up one-fourth of it.
If you want to watch the movie featured in the video, it’s called Steal My Heart/Catch Me. You can watch it for free on DramaFever here. I’m not going to do a review on it. If you have absolutely nothing to watch, I’d recommend it. I can’t really rate Korean movies/dramas. I just watch them to see the hot people and fashion :D. Just kidding! I like Kim Sam Soon and A Millionaire’s First love. Thanks for reading. Stay strong in whatever you do
I’m strong, because I’ve been weak. I’m brave, because I’ve been afraid. I’m wise, because I’ve been foolish.

  1. glad you're staying positive. :) there is always a good reason why things turned out the way it did, you just haven't found that reason yet? i still want to believe that having a relationship and do the things you want can still be achieved if its with the right person. but it takes two working together to make it work. sometimes people see in black and white too much, or maybe i'm just too optimist? the way i see it if i was in a relationship my partner is probably the most important to me and its never worth throw the relationship away over stress, doubt, or time. if you cant even work through that how are you going to work through a lifetime? (my own experience) i guess some relationships aren't made to last. you just got to learn from your past relationships so when you meet the right person you know actually what you need in a relationship and can communicate that to him or her. i like both the quotes, was thinking about posting the end quote on my fb a while back, everything has to be learned or worked on to get there, same can be said for a relationship.

  2. Hey, you say that posts like this aren't worth reading. But, I think they are worth quite a bit. I don't know, I come across a lot of BS in my life at work, at school, on the internet, etc. I really enjoy reading these blogs of yours, because they are so honest. I like hearing your thoughts.

I've been slacking on writing my blog lately, too. I have like three or four outlines, but I haven't posted anything in a little bit. I don't share them with whole lot of people, but that's not the point. I write them because I like to write. You listed things that you've done above, but you missed one. You've inspired me. So, thanks :)

And keep writing these. I love em'. You have great insight, humor, and honesty. You are an amazing person Chua. As always, thanks for sharing......
